Risky Business: Identify, Assess, and Manage
Presented by Dr. Mary Sumner, Professor of Computer Management and Information Systems, School of Business, Southern Illinois University
The process of planning, assessing, and designing a managed print initiative provides many unique challenges, including organizational, technical, and social risk factors. Managing risk is important to the success of managed print projects and involves assessing risk, including qualitative and quantitative analysis of risk factors. Once these risk factors are identified, it is important to determine the probability and impact of each factor, to prioritize them in terms of overall risk score, and to develop a risk mitigation strategy to minimize these factors. In the session, Sumner will walk through an actual managed print project that used risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies to improve successful adoption and implementation of managed print services (MPS). The session will be interactive and will provide attendees with an opportunity to discuss risk factors in managed print. Attendees will also receive a risk assessment and risk management tool kit that includes templates they can use in actual MPS projects.
